TRY OUT SOME OF THESE EXTRA CHALLENGES:

1) Build a bridge using whatever materials you have at home/school.

Here are some photos to inspire you.

2) Go on an outdoor scavenger hunt

3) Go on a virtual tour of famous museums around the world.

This link is to the Natural History Museum in London, and if you scroll down to Museum Views you can take a virtual tour. You can also have a look throughout the link. If you click on the Google Arts and Culture title on the top left hand corner, it'll take you to the homepage where you can visit other museums, galleries and landmarks!

4) Make a maze

Heres how:
Complete the mazes and notice how they are put together, how many options were there? Which one was better and why?
You can find them here:

Planning and Testing:
Try planning your own maze using the maze planner and get someone else to complete it.
Imagine it in 3D do you need to simplify it or make it harder, Could you add obstacles like bottle tops, cotton reels, cotton balls, or cut holes to add difficulty?

Now it’s time to bring it to life, to make your maze you will need:

What you need:
  • straws,
  • one marble, or small round object that can roll,
  • any box like a cracker box or a cereal box,
  • scissors,
  • cellotape,
  • glue (hot glue works best)

Here are some examples:

Line Challenge!

An oldie but a goodie. Can you draw these shapes without lifting your pen or going over any line you have already drawn?
Leonhard Euler, a Swiss mathematician, played around with this idea in the 1700s.

You can also continue to work on the Lockdown Diary.

My Lockdown Diary

Over the next two weeks have a look through this Diary and try and fill out a few pages. Print out a page or write it down on a piece of paper and email your finished pages to your teacher!

ANZAC DAY:
Here is a video about Anzac Day.  Watch the video and discuss it with your family.  What can you do to spread the meaning of Anzac Day?
